Lenovo has introduced a new compact system powered by the APU of the most powerful consumer of AMD to date, the Ryzen AI Max + 395 “Stix Halo”.
Part of the LCFC AI Mini PC range, this machine, now for sale via JD.com in China, combines work class specifications with an imprint adapted to an office that targets AI developers, content creators and power users.
At the heart of the aircraft is the new Ryzen Ai Max + 395 APU of AMD, with 16 CPU Zen 5, 32 threads and an integrated GPU Radeon 8060S based on RDNA 3.5 with 40 calculation units. It also includes an NPU dedicated to provide up to 50 highs. Overall, the CPU, the GPU and the NPU provide up to 126 summits of the performance of the AI, which is sufficient to locally execute the LLM and other IA workloads.
China only for the moment
Designed for AI tasks, creative workflows and high-performance games, the LCFC system has 128 GB of LPDDR5X-8000 memory, which is more than you find in many full-size play platforms, and supports two M.2222222222 2280 PCIe Gen4 SCD, each with a capacity up to 2TB, for a total of 4TB of high speed storage.
Although it is described as a mini PC, at around 9.7 x 7.4 x 3.8 inches, it is firmly in the SFF category (small factor of shape); Quite compact for tight workspaces while providing powerful interns.
Connectivity includes a 1GBE Ethernet port and integrated Wi-Fi, although it does not seem to be supporting Wi-Fi 6. The E / S selection includes a USB 3.2 Gen 1 port of type A, two USB 2.0 ports, a USB type-C, HDMI 1.4 and DisplayPort 1.4.
Although the DisplayPort is useful, the HDMI 1.4 output is a drawback, as it lacks support from 4K to 120 Hz, something expected in modern high -end systems.
The LCFC AI Mini PC would be at the price of ¥ 13,989 in China, which converted to around $ 1,946. This places it in the high -end category, although it is always at a competitive price given its quality of work specifications and its AI capabilities.
Given the growing demand for compact PCs capable of executing AI models locally, there is probably an international interest if Lenovo decides to make its new system more widely available. For the moment, however, it seems to be exclusive to the Chinese market.
