It seems likely that the iPhone 16 Plus will make way for the air of the iPhone 17 this year – and a new leak gives us a better idea of the specifications that the new phone will bring with it, and how it is set to accumulate against the iPhone 17 Pro Max.
These specifications come from Tipster @Oorexda (via Notebookcheck) and suggest that iPhone 17 air will be delivered with a 6.7 -inch screen operating at a resolution of 2796 x 1290 pixels. A 48 MP main camera resolution and a 12MP selfie camera resolution are also mentioned, as well as 128 GB of storage (with other options probably available).
This is compared to a 6.9 -inch screen for the iPhone 17 Pro Max, operating at a resolution of 2868 x 1320 pixels. The same camera resolutions are listed – although the iPhone 17 Pro Max will probably also have another torque of rear cameras – and for this phone, internal storage apparently starts at 256 GB.
If all this is precise, the air of the iPhone 17 would be seated between the 6.3 inch display of the iPhone 17 Pro and the 6.9 inch display of the iPhone 17 Pro Max, in terms of screen size – there will therefore be a lot of choices.
Thin and thinner
None of the specifications listed here is designed to ensure that the air of the iPhone 17 stands out – but it will be the super -miss that will bring the most attraction. Rumors are that the handset will only measure 5.59 mm back and forth.
And 2025 may well be the year of the ultra-thin phone. We have already seen the launch of the thinnest foldable to date, the Oppo Find N5, and we are preparing for the complete revelation of the Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge – a phone that we only have a brief overview so far, and which was going to go to the head against the iPhone 17.
On the basis of unofficial rendering that has already arisen online, the air of the iPhone 17 will come with a single rear camera, housed in a raised camera bar which extends on the top of the rear case. It seems likely that the iPhone 17 Pro and the iPhone 17 Pro Max will also have increased camera modules.
The usual upgrades of the chipset are to be expected, but it will be interesting to see how Apple Air Prix of the iPhone 17, which marks a new series within the iPhone family. Last month, Apple made its debut on the iPhone 16th, which begins at $ 599 / £ 599 / $ 999 in.
