Byd recently announced a new partnership with the best manufacturer of Chinese DJI drones, declaring that it has created an innovative launch ramp which can be integrated into a number of its electric vehicles, allowing drone takeoff and landing directly from the vehicle.
The Ling Yuan system, as it is called, consists of a tailor -made “hangar” system which is housed on the roof, which folds up to reveal an integrated DJI drone, as well as an automated system which loads and exchange of exhausted batteries.
According to CNEV Post, the unit also has a positioning module on board, which, we assume, allows greater precision during landing in the hangar, as well as a tailor -made Ling Yuan application which allows rapid film changes on the move.
Apparently, the system supports “dynamic takeoffs and landing”, the drone capable of being deployed and called home while the vehicle travels at 25 km / h (or about 15 MPH). The drone can then follow the vehicle at speeds up to 54 km / h (33 MPH) to spare dynamic images.

Analysis: Byd knows what excites technology heads
Byd slowly makes science fiction a reality, whether through his Yangwang U9 jump supercar Blade runner– Inspired drone system that can start automatically from the roof of a SUV.
It is very fun, but there is no word on the legality or the related security implications for launching a drone from a moving vehicle, or potential problems with several drones launched at the same time to determine the cause of upcoming traffic jam, for example.
It is not clear either if the Ling Yuang drone system should be ordered in terms of purchase as an optional supplement, or if customers can reorganize it on existing BYD vehicles.
Anyway, it is a slightly crazy look at the future and proof that China constantly innovates when it comes to ensuring that the next generation of electric vehicles is integrated into increasingly high lifestyles.
