- Pro-offer launches new preamps based on valves: a compact, a large size
- Replaceable valves and large support for MM and MC dectties
- £ 240 and £ 529 respectively
Pro-Poch announced two new phono pre-amplifiers, the tube e box and the S3 B tube box. The two products bring the heat of the valves to your configuration of the platform, and the very affordable tube box would be a particularly good upgrade for vinyl fans with a budget.
The E-tube E box is based on the well-received S2 tube box, and it has been made with more affordable components to reduce the price: where the S2 tube box is currently sold to around £ 339 in the United Kingdom, the E-tube E box is £ 240 (around $ 325 / $ 500 at).
If you have invested in an affordable option among the best decks, but you think now, you might like to start playing with sound – and, in particular, adding the heat of tube amps to your system – it seems really tempting.
The S3 B tube box is a higher specification preamp, but it is still relatively affordable at £ 529 (around $ 715 / $ 1 100 in).
Pro-project tube box and S3 B tube box: Key features
The pro-project tube box has a fully discreet and double mono design in its very compact case and is delivered with replaceable valves, which means that you can exchange them to change the sound characteristics or simply renew them when they end up.
The Tube E box supports a wide range of mobile magnets and mobile coil cartridges, with adjustable gain parameters at the front of the unit and both the capacity and adjustment of the impedance via dip switches on the bottom of the magnitude.
Pro-Offer says that the Tube E box offers “high-end qualities at an entry-level price”, and taking into account the name, I suppose it is a perfect for the juke box E1 projet that I examined, or the most recent juke box e1.2, which lacks phono.
The higher and higher S3 B specification tube is also based on valves, and once again the valves are replaceable. The S3 B tube box has a fully symmetrical and discreet gain stage, designed to be twinned by a loan platform for balance via its 5-pin mini-XLR input.
It is larger than the tube e box, so all the adjustments are on the front panel, with an adjustable gain from 40 to 65 dB, several capacity and impedance options and the possibility of connecting two turntables at a time: an imbalance and a balanced, with the S3 B tube box by remembering the parameters of each and reminding them when you switch between them.
The two models are on sale in the United Kingdom from August 2025-I expected that an American launch follows shortly after, on the basis of the recent history of prooff, the prices announced closer to the time (according to current prices).
