- A leak suggests that the pixel 10 could be esim only
- Change can only apply to the United States
- This is something that Apple has been doing since 2022
We are now well used to Google Pixel 10 leaks – The launch of these smartphones is scheduled for Wednesday August 20 – but the last to emerge is a bit out of the ordinary, and suggests that these handsets could come without physical simulation trays and rely on Esims.
The rumor comes from the generally reliable Blass Evan, although it seems that he picked it up by another source. Apparently, the Pixel 10 Pro Fold will be the only phone in the range in which you can place a physical SIM card.
This would mean that the Pixel 10, Pixel 10 Pro and Pixel 10 Pro XL would be the first Google phones which count exclusively on Esims. However, Blass adds that this information can only apply to the models sold in the United States.
The future is esim

Although it is a surprise that the Pixel 10 range turned out to be ESIM only, it would not have been immediately out of blue: you may remember that there were rumors that Google would do this for some of the Pixel 8 models in 2023.
In addition, this is something that Apple has done in the United States since the launch of the iPhone 14 in September 2022. He is a switch that Apple managed without too much disruption, and Google may be ready to follow the plunge.
ESIM technology has certainly become much simpler and more reliable in recent years, and in many ways, it is more practical than the use of physical sims. It also means that more space is released inside the phone chassis for other components.
We only have a week and a half to wait for the official unveiling and see what Google will do – and we will of course bring you the news as it is announced. Based on rumors, these handsets may not be too much upgraded,
