The new Sky Sky Protocol is launched with an asset strategy at token of $ 1 billion

Grove, a new decentralized financial protocol (DEFI), focused on institutional quality credit infrastructure, emerged from stealth on Wednesday with a commitment of $ 1 billion towards a tokenized active strategy.

The protocol aims to fill DEFI with traditional financial assets by buying capital on regulated credit investment chain, focusing on guaranteed loan obligations (CLO). Thanks to its infrastructure, Grove gives protocols of cryptocurrencies and asset managers to access real asset investments (RWA), helping them to put inactive reserves at work and an independent return on cryptographic markets.

The launch also marks the beginnings of Grove as a last “star” in the sky ecosystem, one of the largest and longest ready -made loans, formerly known as Makerdao. Sky makes a recast called the end of the game which divides the protocol into autonomous units called “stars”, each responsible for its own governance and its innovation on the edge of the ecosystem. The first entity of this type was Spark, a yield and loan protocol. Sky also issues the DAI of $ 3.7 billion and $ 3.4 billion in USDS uses, and has increasingly reduced reserves to real assets such as treasury bills.

Grove begins with an allowance of $ 1 billion in Sky which will put in the Janus Henderson Aaa Clo (Jaaa) strategy, a tokenized fund by Janus Henderson and built on centrifuge, a blockchain platform specializing in the tokenization of real active ingredients.

The basic team of contributors behind Grove – Mark Phillips, Kevin Chan and Sam Paderewski – had experiences before Deloitte, Hildène Capital Management, Blocktower Capital and Citibank before moving to DEFI. The protocol was incubated by the specialist Defi specialist Steakhouse Financial, a company that played a key role in the introduction of active world in the Sky system.

“While tokenized treasury bills have paved the way, there is a growing demand for more diversified and high quality assets,” said Anil Sood, director of centrifuge strategy and growth.

“With the launch of Grove, for the first time, the protocols can access a liquid of firm institutional quality while maintaining flexibility to pivot between the DEFI and TRADFI environments,” said Sam Padarewski.
