- Swann has launched a wireless home safety camera with solar load
- Wireless Evo Solar can be powered by 45 minutes of sun per day
- The camera also has local storage of 16 GB, so you don’t need a subscription
Swann, the company behind some of the best home security cameras that we have tested here at Techradar, has launched a new compact outdoor camera that you will never need to remove to recharge, and which does not require a subscription plan to record and examine your video sequences.
SWANN EVO wireless solar is a compact weather -resistant camera (much smaller than SWANN MAXRANE4K Solar of Swann Maxranger4K), and can operate all day with only 45 minutes of sun exposure, offering you a lot of flexibility when you get it.
The camera is delivered with a 16 GB SD card, so that you can save your images locally and keep control total on it. If you decide that you want to keep clips in the cloud, the free Swann secure plan gives you 1 to 7 days of cloud recording for a single camera.
The Evo Wireless Solar records 2k with a field of vision at 120 degrees, and offers an infrared night vision for registration without projector after nightfall. There is also a double -meaning audio, allowing you to talk to visitors and prevent potential intruders.
The Swann Evo Wireless Solar has a list price of $ 129.99 / £ 99.99 / $ 179.95 at and is available to buy directly in Swann.
For comparison, the outdoor camera Ring plus the battery is $ 79.99 / £ 79.99 $ 179 at, but lack of solar load and requires a ring plan in a ring if you want to store your recordings. For more details on what you get with Ring Home, see our guide if I need a Ring subscription.
The price difference between the Swann and Wireless Ring cameras disappears immediately if you want solar load, because Ring solar panels start at $ 39.99 / £ 39.99 $ 59 to each.
We hope to soon test the SWANN EVO wireless solar, to see how he compared to other wireless cams in his price slice and above.
