Naturally, the Teac would recommend teaming up with a model such as the recently published DAC Teac UD-507…
The transport mechanism is the CD-5020A TEAC, which has long been used for diffusion applications thanks to its robustness and reliability. Teac combined the mechanism with a semi-filter mounting structure and a drive circuit specially designed to offer “a much more refined audio experience”.
Teac PD-507T CD Transport: Key characteristics and price
The PD-507T is purely for audio CDs, including CD-R and CD-RW, but not the Super Audio CD (SACD), which can exasperate certain collectors. It has digital and coaxial optics, each with its own separate power, and transport can deactivate the power of the unused output.
The whole design consists in providing the most specific signal to an external DAC, and for this purpose, there is a toroidal nucleus transformer for clean power, two independent rectifier circuits for the engine / collection, two independent rectifier circuits for the clock and the digital output, and a clock clock with low noise.
Teac says that electrical circuits and mechanical construction have been refined to offer an even higher level of sound than previous models.
Regarding design, it is a simple affair that does not draw attention to itself, although it benefits from a new Amber Full Dot screen and new control terminals.
Since the revival in vinyl, we have had so much Elite new grouping options in the running for a place among the best decks, and all promising to treat the sound of your wax with special care and attention.
CDs have not had as much love, and their digital nature means that they do not get the same mechanical attention, so for the many music fans who have a big collection, it is pleasant to see a new version like this which focuses on the most absolute of your records. Unless they are the SACD, of course.
The PD-507T will be available from the fourth quarter of 2025 and has a recommended retail price of $ 1,699.99 / £ 1,299 / € 1,299 (around $ 2,666 at).
