The NFL sends a safety note to the teams after the shooting of the deadly office in New York: report

The NFL would have sent a service note to its 32 teams on Friday advised them to improve security after the fatal shooting in the League offices in New York on July 28, according to ESPN.

The memo would have been sent by the Director of Security of the NFL and the Advocate General to all the owners of teams and presidents and made three recommendations:

  • Evaluation of updated threats to mitigate and correctly identify the risks
  • Armed agents of the application of laws or security in the buildings of the team and the league whenever the players or the staff are present
  • Weapon prize to enter the team and league buildings

“The Committee recognizes that these changes will affect daily operations and require an investment of time, coordination and resources,” said the service note, according to ESPN. “However, there is no higher priority than the security and feeling of security of our players, coaches, staff and all those who work in and around our facilities.

“In times like these, we remember that security is not a fundamental function. It is fundamental.”

According to the authorities, four people were killed and a fifth was injured inside the building which serves as a head office for Blackstone and the NFL, according to the authorities.

The victims were identified as the NYPD officer, 36, Didarul Islam, who was out of service in service in the building; Wesley Lepatner, 43, a mother married to two children who was shot in the building hall; Worker of the real estate company Julia Hyman, 27 years old; and security guard Aland Etienne.

Tamura waited for an elevator, allowing a woman to leave unscathed before taking her to the 33rd floor. He started to shoot and kill another person before suicide finally, the police said.

Tamura was allowed to carry a hidden weapon in Nevada.
