- Lexar unveiled the first micro SD express card in the world in the world
- It is available right now and seems to be perfect for Nintendo Switch 2
- 512 GB and 256 GB options are also available
The Lexar storage giant unveiled the first micro SD express card in the world 1 TB and it seems that it is an essential accessory for Nintendo Switch 2.
In case you have missed the service note, Nintendo has confirmed that the Nintendo Switch 2 will be compatible with the format of micro SD Express cards rather than ordinary micro SD cards.
This means that, although not all the best SD card switches will not work with the Nintendo Switch 2, the upcoming console will have considerably faster extensible storage. This will make it possible to allow much more ambitious games and massively improved loading times on the platform.
As it is a new format, after having launched just a few months ago, there are not many options on the market at the moment. However, this newly out of Lexar model pushes the envelope with regard to storage capacity and portable game performance.
Designed with the Nintendo Switch 2 in mind, the Lexar Play Pro Micro SD Express card is capable of faster reading speeds up to 900 MB / s and speed writing up to 600 MB / s.
Like other micro SD express cards, it is also behind compatible with UHS-I and USH-II devices (such as the original Nintendo switch), but will operate at significantly lower speeds.
It is available in three capacities, 256 GB, 512 GB, and the 1 to present. These cost $ 49.99, $ 99.99 and $ 199.99 respectively.
The 1 TB model is certainly my group pickup and although nearly $ 200 seem to be spending on any storage device, this is a reasonable step in the price range of 80 to 100 $ 100 models existing Lexar and other major manufacturers.
You should also keep in mind that 1 TB is a lot of storage and should see you through a large part of the life of Nintendo Switch 2 if the current information on the size of the game files is something to pass. We know according to the first eshop lists that first -party games like Mario Kart World Come to just under 25 GB. Even a massive game like Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate edition May hold on a 64 GB game cartridge.
The three models are covered by the limited lifetime warranty of Lexar, which means that you are covered if quality problems occur during use. Even in regions where the limited lifetime warranty does not apply, you are still covered for 10 whole years, which is excellent.
The best part? It is available at the moment via Amazon, so you can pick up one next to your Nintendo Switch 2 pre -order and that all your storage needs are met for years to come on the first day.
