ISLAMABAD:
The process of nominating the opposition leader in the National Assembly reached its final stage on Thursday, with the verification of signatures of opposition lawmakers completed and the National Assembly Secretariat preparing the formal summary for approval.
The secretariat forwarded the summary to the office of the president.
The NA speaker will sign the summary after consultation with Special Secretary Law Mushtaq Ahmed. All procedural requirements, including verification of signatures of opposition members, have been met.
