Five other victims injured in the oil oil tanker explosion last week in Noshki, Balutchistan, died during treatment in Karachi hospitals, bringing the total number of eight deaths, rescue managers confirmed on Saturday.
According to the Edhi Foundation, the explosion of April 28 injured at least 38 people, most of whom have suffered serious burns, Express News reported.
Among these, 24 patients injured by criticism were transported by plane to Karachi on April 29 via the EDHI air ambulance for specialized treatment.
One of the victims, Mahmood Ahmed, 38, died half-voltage. Two others – Tayyab Shah and Jehanzaib – were the subject of their injuries earlier this week during a private hospital in the Karachi Gulshan -E -IQBAL region.
Friday evening and early Saturday morning, five additional victims – identified as Salman (18), Wazir Ahmed (17), hard Mohammad (26), Abdul Basit (25) and Mustafa (28) – passed during a treatment in two different private hospitals of the city.
The five bodies were transferred to the Edhi morgue to Sohrab Goth.
Seventeen other patients remain under treatment in private Karachi hospitals, according to EDHI officials.
The explosion occurred near a truck terminal in Nushki when an oil tanker caught fire and exploded, injuring more than 40 people. Many had gathered around the vehicle before the explosion.
Local authorities are pursuing investigations into the cause of the fire, which would have been from the oil tanker before triggering the explosion.
Emergency protocols have been promulgated in hospitals in the region after the incident, and special planes were sent to transport the most critical injuries to Karachi for care.
