- A mention of GPT-4.5 has just appeared in Android
- This suggests that a full launch could be imminent
- Right now, the model cannot be accessible
Although Openai has not released in terms of repelling new features for Chatgpt users, we are still patiently awaiting the next upgrade to the GPT -4O model which was postponed last year – and the wait could soon be finished.
Users of the Android Chatgpt application spotted (via the Android font) a mention of a “search overview GPT-4.5” in a pop-up alert inside the application, which resembles the next version of the underlying model of Chatgpt.
The tapping on the alert does nothing for the moment, and it does not appear for all Android users. It suggests that it was something that got rid of earlier that he should have.
Although we do not get an official start for GPT -4.5 here – and Openai has not yet said a lot of audiences on its launch – the slippage on the Android application points to the model arriving as soon as possible, at least in the form of preview.
What could GPT-4.5?
I just received this on the Android application! I think it’s a big but 4.5 seems imminent pic.twitter.com/pdzcak5iktFebruary 26, 2025
OPENAI CEO, Sam Altman, recently said that GPT-4.5 would be the final autonomous model published by the company, with future outings combining all the available models (including the reasoning models in the O series) in a single package.
As for what it will bring, we can expect usual progress of precision, coding, mathematics, summary. Larger context windows – prompt, roughly – may well be taken care of, and a wider contextual consciousness is also a strong possibility.
However, it will only be an advance of 0.5: GPT-5 should be a greater upgrade, although it is unlikely to be launched this year. This should see all the chatgpt tools wrapped together, including features such as the recently unveiled research mode.
We can expect GPT-4.5 to be exclusive to paying chatgpt users, before going to free users. Meanwhile, the many Rivals of Openai in the field of AI show no sign of slowdown with their own outings.
