Officials released the cause of death English Premier League Player George Baldock, who was found dead in a swimming pool at his home in Greece in October.

According to the file of the investigation examined by PK Press Club Digital, the officials discovered that Baldock “had a very large heart which would have indicated that it was sensitive to the cardiac arrhythmias”.

Bladock was born in England and played for Sheffield United for seven seasons – three in the Premier League. He signed with Panathinaikos Football Club, a member of the Super League Greece, in 2024, making an appearance for the club only three days before his death.
He appeared in 12 games with the Greece national team and appeared for the last time in a match in March in a match against Georgia during the EURO 2024 qualifying series.

“There are no words to describe the human pain caused by the news of the premature loss of one of our young people,” said the Greek football federation in a statement at the time. “This moment calls silence. Condolences to his family. Condolences of his second family. Goodbye.”
