Former KHYBER-PAKHTUNKHWA (KP), former KHATTAK KHYBER-PAKHTUNKHWA decided to join Jamiat Ulema-Elam-Fazl (JUI-F) and will officially announce his decision on February 22, Express News reported.
The former head of the PTI met the head of Jui-F Maulana Fazlur Rehman and confirmed his decision to join the party. His brother, Liaqat Khattak, was also present at the meeting.
The two leaders had in -depth discussions before finalizing this decision. Khattak is expected to make the official announcement at a press conference in Mank Sharif, Nowshera, alongside Rehman.
It should be noted that Khattak was the provincial president of Pakistan Tehreek-E-insaf in KP. He was chief minister of KP during the mandate of the PTI from 2013 to 2018.
However, in June 2023, Khattak announced his resignation from all the party’s positions following the incidents of May 9 following the arrest of the president of the Imran Khan party.
Shortly after, Khattak, a relative assistant to former Prime Minister Imran Khan, announced the formation of a new political party, “Pakistan Tehreek-I-insAf Parliamentians”.
