The Tehreek-E-Tahaffuz-eyeen-E-Pakistan (TTAP), an alliance of multipartite opposition, underlined Thursday the need for national dialogue to excite the country of economic and political crises in the midst of the situation of “aggravation”.

In their joint declaration published after the conclusion of the two -day Grand Moot in the Federal capital, the opposition parties said: “The country’s deterioration situation requires a joint strategy to stabilize Pakistan by national dialogue.”

The two -day opposition conference was held with the head of the TTAP, Mahmood Khan Achakzai, on the president of a local hotel in Islamabad.

The solution to the country’s problems lies in the rule of law and the supremacy of the Constitution, he added.

The Moot held the general elections “faked” on February 8, 2024 responsible for the economic, political and social crises underway with which the country faced.

“The current Parliament has no moral, political and legal position,” read the press release.

The opposition theater asked to abolish all the amendments that contradict the spirit of the Constitution. The conference described the “crawling violation of constitutional rights and human rights” a complete negation of the rule of law in the country.

Referring to the repression of opposition parties, the theater said that the violation of “human rights” was proof of the “fascism” of the outgoing government.

“The constitution of the country does not allow any Pakistani citizens to be harassed or arrested for any political activity,” added the declaration.

The opposition parties demanded the outgoing government release all the country’s political prisoners. He also urged the federal government to revoke recent changes to the PECA law (amendment), 2025.

He also indicated that water resources should be distributed between the provinces in accordance with the 1991 water agreement.

The fresh and transparent elections were the only solution to the country’s current crisis, read the joint declaration.

Addressing the conference, the head of the SIC, Sahibzada Hamid Raza, condemned attempts to obstruct the event, saying that efforts had been made to prevent the rally.

He criticized the restrictions on political discourse, pointing out that even a small group of individuals can no longer hold discussions in the capital.

Raza stressed that the participants included members of the National Assembly and the Senate. Expressing his concern concerning the state of democracy, he declared that he was at least reassuring that votes that defended constitutional supremacy are still raised.

“Those in power lack public support and legitimacy”

The president of the PTI, lawyer Gohar Ali Khan, said that the people had raised and that their voices could not be reduced to silence. He declared the opposition conference a success, highlighting the dissent of the growing public against the current administration.

Gohar, addressing journalists from the federal capital, stressed the need for judicial independence and the rule of law, stressing that a just and impartial judicial system is crucial for democracy.

He revealed that there had been a suggestion to hold the conference at the house of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, but the committee decided on the current room.

He clarified that this movement does not concern the revolution but the amplification of the voice of the people, which has already gained momentum.

Criticizing the government, he noticed that those in power lack public support and legitimacy.

‘We will persist in our mission’

Former Senator Mustafa Nawaz Khokhar, while addressing the conference of opposition parties, criticized the government for deleting dissent and restricting political freedoms.

He said that independent thought could not be silenced and swore not to allow such restrictions. Khokhar accused the authorities of retaining the Sindh water rights and of refusing the province of its due date.

Condemning the abolition of the votes of the opposition, he said that constitutional violations were underway. He also criticized attempts to prevent the conference.

“The objective was to prevent this conference from performing,” said the former senator, adding that if the government claims to maintain democracy, this fears a rally of opposition.

He stressed that the conference was aimed at designing a program for improving the country.

According to Khokhar, Pakistan faces a serious political crisis, without any sign of constitutional governance. He said the social contract between the State and its citizens had been broken.

Referring to the law on the prevention of electronic crimes (PECA), he said that he had been used to stifle freedom of expression. He called for the resignation of those who currently occupy key positions in the government.

The politician also underlined the need to respond to the concerns of the people of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), Sindh and Balutchistan. He swore that the movement for the restoration of the Constitution would continue.

“Regardless of the number of police officers deployed or the doors are locked, we will persist in our mission,” he concluded.

“ Blind and deaf to realities ”

Liaqat Baloch, assistant emir of Jamaat-E-Islami, while speaking at the conference of opposition parties, criticized the government for having obstructed democratic processes.

He said that those in power become “blind and deaf to the realities around them”, using all possible measures to impose restrictions. The head of the JI expressed a deep concern in the face of the threats facing the Federation.

The head of the JI strongly condemned the borders of freedom of expression, calling them unacceptable. He warned that when fundamental rights are removed, people are forced to seek alternative means to make their voices heard.

Stressing the dangers of federal authorities ignoring provincial concerns, he stressed that such a negligence could have serious consequences.

He recalled the active role of his party in alliances such as Muttahida Majlis-Emal (MMA), declaring that they were still playing a constructive role.

Baloch urged all democratic forces to maintain the sacred character of the Constitution, Democracy and the Public Mandate. He underlined the need to avoid repeating past errors and called for a consensus on a national program.

The high leader of JI said that the Constitution should be maintained at all costs and underlined the need to fight for judicial independence.
