Earlier this month, a female swimming pool tournament championship in the United Kingdom presented Two transgender athletes who defeated their female competition.
Harriet Haynes and Lucy Smith I went out to end in the Ultimate Pool Women’s Pro Series 2 event at the Robin Park Leisure Center in Wigan. The two competitors beat four opponents each to go to the fight of the championship.
But weeks after the event, the organization prohibited biological men from competing with women.

Ultimate swimming pool policies From now on, “with effect from April 23, 2025, Trans women will not be eligible to participate in the women’s series and Trans women will not be selected to be selected for international events in the female category.”
The organization said they had ordered an “expert report” to determine if the pool is a “sport affected by sex” in which biological men could have competitive advantages.
“The clear conclusion of the organic expert and benchmark sports which jointly wrote the report was that the eight -ball swimming pool was a sport affected by sex and that, in landmarks, players have unique drawbacks compared to male players and that transgender women retain male advantages,” said Ultimate Pool.
According to Ultimate swimming pool groupSmith won 85 of the 113 matches and 62% of the 848 images dating back to 2021 before entering the final. Haynes had a percentage of 0.750 victories in 241 life for life and won 61% of executives before taking Smith.
The two players found themselves face to face in the semi-finals of the British British series swimming pool championships in October. Haynes won this match but lost the championship for the benefit of a biological woman.
In August 2023, the World Federation of Eight Balles (WEPF) announced that it updated its directives to allow those who were “born female” to play sport.

“We understand that this decision can arouse questions and discussions in our sport. We want to emphasize that our commitment to maintain the values of the sporting spirit, inclusiveness and adherence to regulatory standards remains unshakable,” WEPF said at the time. “Our ultimate objective is to ensure the continuous growth and the development of the sport that we all love, while maintaining a harmonious balance between the inclusiveness and the integrity of the competition. We recognize the importance of promoting an environment where everyone can participate and prosper, and we remain devoted to the maintenance of these principles at best of our capacities.”
But in October of the same year, WEPF overturned This protection. It allowed transgender competitors under the condition that they identified as a woman for at least four years and submitted proof of reduction in testosterone levels.
However, Ultimate Pool also said that their decision had come when the British Supreme Court defined the word “woman” in its biological sense, rather than like gender ideology.
“In this judgment, the Supreme Court has judged that a certificate of gender recognition does not change the legal relations of a person for the end of the 2010 equality law”, according to the new guidelines for the ultimate pool.
