Lahore:
The owners of hotel and guest house across the Punjab received a final warning to record their business, because on Sunday, on the last day for compulsory recording on the “Hotel Eye” software system.
The Maison du Punjab department launched the online portal to record all hotels, guest houses and residential service providers, fixing on June 15 as a deadline for conformity.
According to a spokesperson for the Department of Home, the owners of hotel and hotel houses who have not yet registered must immediately finish their registration at the Porta.
“Measures will be taken against hotels and guest houses that do not register under the Punjab Information of Temporary Residence Act 2015,” said the spokesperson.
The initiative extends to housing reserved via international online booking applications, which must also be recorded on the system. “Registration was made compulsory for reservations made via online booking applications operating worldwide,” said the spokesperson.
The decision was made to prevent terrorism, crimes and illegal activities, according to the ministry. “Individuals from abroad and inside the country remain in hotels and guest houses in Punjab,” noted the spokesperson.
As part of the new system, data from all people staying in hotels and private guest houses in the province must have entered the Hotel Eye software.
The owners of private guest houses will provide invited information thanks to their connection identification information.
“The digital verification of national and foreign residents will help the elimination of crime,” added the spokesperson.
The ministry stressed that the complete registration system is crucial to maintaining the security and monitoring of temporary Punjab residents.
The owners of hotel and guest house who did not finish their registration were invited to immediately register to avoid legal action under the provincial law.
