Several current NFL stars have expressed their interest in participating in Football Drapeau in just over three years when the Olympic Games in the United States return to the United States
On Thursday, the League announced that team owners will examine a resolution concerning if active players can participate in the 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles.
Last month, the NFL commissioner Roger Goodell said that the interest in participating in the summer Olympic Games was a hot topic in the League, adding a resolution on the issue could be to come.

“Well, I have heard many players directly who want to participate and represent their country, be it the United States or a country where they came from,” said Goodell in April.
“I think that is something with which we will continue to discuss, not only the union, but also the clubs. I think the two are things that we will probably resolve in the next 60 days.”

The resolution which will be considered as a player on each list of the NFL to participate in the 2028 games. An exemption would be granted for the designated international player of each team representing his country of origin.

Protection against injury and a salary ceiling credit for injured players during competition at the Olympic Games are also instituted, according to the resolution. The chords on field surface standards would also be in place.
Flag Football will make its debut as an Olympic sport in 2028. The Los Angeles Olympic Games will present four other new sports – baseball / softball, cricket, butt and squash.
The 2028 Olympic Games should start in mid-July. Games should not overlap with the NFL training camp times.
