Islamabad:
A subcommittee of the Public Accounts Committee (CAP) has discovered major irregularities in the financial affairs of the Port Qasim (PQA) authority, including the unauthorized use of 185 billion rupees over two years.
During a meeting chaired by the manager of Moin Amir Pirzada, audit officials revealed that the PQA had spent the enormous amount in the 2019-20 and 2020-2021 years without obtaining the required approval of the federal government, in clear violation of the rules.
The secretary of maritime affairs awarded the former authority of the authority to prepare for his own annual budget, which was once authorized by the Council.
However, the president stressed that the irregularities had nevertheless occurred and had led a complete audit of the issue.
