The New York Knicks had not progressed to the final of the Eastern Conference since 2000 before doing so last month, finally losing against the Indiana Pacers in six games. Three days after the release of the New York eliminations series, the Knicks announced on Tuesday that they would go from coach Tom Thibodeau.
Pacers coach Rick Carlisle praised Thibodeau for what he has accomplished in New York.
“Thibs has entered and has changed so much,” he said.

Carlisle, who is also the head of the National Basketball Coaches Association, said that he assumed that the news of Thibodeau’s dismissal was false.

While the search for Knicks for his next head coach is walking, at least a high-level coach already seems to be out of the race.

The name of Dan Hurley was linked to the opening of the job, but the head coach of the UCONN seems to have little interest in making the jump to the NBA.
“Not another summer from that,” said Hurley Hartford running.
ESPN reported on Wednesday that the Phoenix Suns intended to appoint Jordan Ott as the next head coach.
