Lahore:
Although the genocidal attacks of 15 months against Gaza arrested a temporary judgment with the recent ceasefire agreement, the devastation left in their wake is unimaginable.
More than 2 million people, including pregnant women and innocent children, brought the weight of this violence. Among these children, a significant number were left like amputees, changed forever by the horrors they have endured.
Although the ceasefire has brought a relief measure to the inhabitants of Gaza, it cannot cancel the irreversible damage caused-in particular the thousands of members lost by Palestinian children during prolonged attacks, which some have described as An act of infanticide.
According to the United Nations Bureau for Humanitarian Affairs Coordination (OCHA), Palestinian children were killed, hungry and frozen to death in the Gaza Strip.
Tom Fletcher, the United Nations Under-Secretary General for Humanitarian Affairs and the Emergency Rescue Coordinator, said: “The children were killed, hungry and frozen to death. They were mutilated, orphans and separated from their families ”. His words highlighted the amazing impact on the youngest generation of Gaza. In addition, United Nations statistics reveal that around 150,000 pregnant women and new mothers have urgently need health services in Gaza.
In the wake of the ceasefire, two Pakistani brothers and sisters-Ubaydah al-fiddhah Hafiah, 10, and his brother Ghulam Bishar Hafi of 12 years old-have again raised their voice for children speechless in Palestine. Thanks to a press release published by their father and their inspiration, Professor Dr. Aurangzeb Hafi, they announced the continuation of their campaign, “Voice for the Voiceless”, to defend the children left in the aftermath of the conflict.
