The Noor Zaman of Pakistan and Nasir Iqbal stormed the quarter -finals of the Asian Squash championship in double on June 24, after a commanding victory of the right games on the Chinese taipei.
The duo did a light job from their last opponents in the group phase, beating Chi Yu-Wei and Chen CHING-FU 11-2, 11-9 in just 11 minutes in the high-level B group.
With the victory, they obtained a place in the quarterfinals, where they were to face South Korea later the same day.
Zaman and Iqbal remained undefeated throughout the group phase, starting their campaign on Monday with two full victories.
They opened with a victory of 11-4, 11-1 against South Korea, before mastering the Philippines 11-7, 11-4 in their second match.
Their constant form helped Pakistan ending at the top of their group, which also included teams from the Philippines, Singapore and South Korea.
The championship format presents group matches in the round during the first two days, followed by direct elimination towers starting on June 25.
The finals of the male categories, women and mixed doubles are scheduled for June 26.
The coach of the Fahim Gul team and the director of the contingent Amir Nawaz guided the team throughout the Kuching tournament, where Pakistan now aims to continue its winning race in the direct elimination phase.
