London: former Pakistani Upper Military Officer Brigadier (RETD) Rashid Naseer told the British High Court that the first intelligence agency in Pakistan, intelligence between services (ISI), and the military has nothing to do with incidents and allegations of kidnappings and tortures in Pakistan.
Proof of proof of the second day of the trial within the framework of his defamation case against Major (RETD) Adil Raja, the retired brigadier was counter-examined by the lawyer of Raja, the lawyer Simon Harding, as well as the lawyer of Naseer, David Lemer.
The deputy judge of the High Court of London, Richard Spearman KC, pointed out at the start of the trial on the second day that he will not authorize the trial of the defamation case of the Brigadier case (RETD) Naseer against Adil Raja to transform himself into trials of Pakistani policy. The judge noted that the case is in the defamation of an individual (brigadier retired Naseer) and has nothing to do with the global political situation in Pakistan or the role of the army or the ISI. The judge pushed Raja’s lawyer to admit that Adil Raja had no defense of truth. Immediately afterwards, Raja withdrew the defense of truth, which means that he can only claim allegations against Rashid Naseer are true. The only remaining defense is the public interest.
Answering questions from Raja’s lawyer, the applicant Naseer said: “Speaking of myself. I have been used in the intelligence service for a long time and I have never been involved in such things. The ISI or the military is involved in threats or kidnappings. They are faced with threats to Pakistan by intelligence services.
He continued: “My case is not to silence the criticisms of the government, soldiers or journalists. Adil Raja has become a journalist as a cover because you can get a lot of them when you are a journalist. I have suffered a lot of physical and reputation damage. It is my personal business to erase my name.”
The retirement brigadier said there were three categories of people in the United Kingdom who worried after Adil Raja published the allegedly defamatory equipment about him.
“My immediate family, like my nephew and my niece who felt threatened. My extended family was concerned and many of them, who supported PTI and Imran Khan, thought that these allegations were true. The third category is those that are still used in the intelligence community of the United Kingdom; We have served together in the United Arab Emirates and Afghanistan.
“My immediate family was worried, they thought their security would be compromised in London. I had an excellent relationship with British intelligence professionals and worked with them in counter-terrorism; We have developed and worked together on terrorist control operations, including threats to British national security and vice versa. UNITED KINGDOM.
“My future plans went in danger. My name and my photos are extinct and my name is tainted as a result of these allegations. It made me feel vulnerable. I received death threats and that family members crossed the same thing. The person who had come to be assured.
The case is based on nine publications. By deciding on the meaning of publications in April 2024, the deputy judge of the High Court, Richard Spearman KC, had judged that Brig (RETD) Naseer had been defamed at the Common Law of the United Kingdom when Adil Farooq Raja had made the following allegations, without any evidence, in the publications in June 2022: (1) Rashid Naseer had taken the total control of the high court Lahore; (2) Rashid Naseer would have had several meetings with Asif Ali Zardari to discuss the manipulation of the elections; (3) Rashid Naseer will be eliminated at the right time by soldiers secretly working information on the actions and movements of these people; (4) The brigadier Rashid Naseer worked against the candidates of the PTI; (5) Rashid Naseer is part of a meticulously artificial process set up by military and intelligence officers to translate the elections; (6) Rashid Naseer abused his position, using huge funds not recorded to ensure the victory of PDM; (7) Rashid Naseer will abuse his position to harass the PTI supporters during the PTI elections; (8) Rashid Naseer has sinned and destroyed his chances of life promised in the afterlife; (9) Rashid Naseer had led the police to make their auctions by making an allegation baseless of corruption; (10) Rashid Naseer is directly involved in political interference; (11) The brigadier Rashid Naseer recorded a complaint against Adil Raja in order to defame it; (12) Rashid Naseer had Adil Raja’s brother-in-law arrested; And (13) He played a leading role in the regime change.
Brig (Retd) Naseer denies all these allegations. Adil Raja has lived in the United Kingdom since April 2022.
