In the midst of the implacable provocative measures of India, following its reckless missile attacks against civil targets in Pakistan, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif told the American Secretary of State Marco Rubio that “Pakistan reserves the right to act in self -defense”.
Prime Minister Shehbaz received a telephone call from Secretary Rubio on Thursday in which they discussed the development of the Southern Asian region region, according to a statement from the Prime Minister’s office.
The development came one day when the soldiers of Pakistan neutralized 25 HAROP drones provided by Israel – called blur ammunition – sent by India in several cities, including certain main urban centers, in a decision that has greatly increased tensions between the two nuclear neighbors.
The Prime Minister transmitted the strong conviction by Pakistan by missile and drone strikes from India which led to the death of 31 civilians and damage to civil infrastructure.
“India’s attacks have violated Pakistan’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, while seriously putting peace and stability in the Southern Asia region,” he added.
Prime Minister Shehbaz reaffirmed the Pakistan business resolved to defend its sovereignty and territorial integrity at all costs. “The inhabitants of Pakistan are indignant by the acts of not caused war of India,” he also said and stressed that Pakistan reserves the right to act in self-defense, in accordance with article 51 of the Charter of the United Nations.
The Prime Minister appreciated the concerns of US President Donald Trump concerning the current security situation in South Asia. Rubio said the United States was following the situation in South Asia closely because it is committed to promoting peace and stability in the region.
He also underlined the need for Pakistan and India to work closely to defuse the situation. The two parties agreed to stay in touch, according to the PMO declaration.
