- Amazon’s leader of Amazon, Panos Panay, chatted Alexa + Hardware with Bloomberg
- Panos has teased new equipment in its entry, nucleus and signature categories
- We will probably see new speakers and smart screens, but also new types of devices, including portable devices such as smart glasses and “ wrist devices ”
Since October 2023, we have seen the arrival of Panos Panay inaugurate changes in Amazon Devices Group – Think Echo, Fire TV, Kindle and Alexa – at the wider shopping giant. More recently, however, we saw Panos and his Amazon team introduce a new Alexa, Alexa +, who invigorates the classic assistant with a ton of AI.
In a new interview with Mark Gurman from Bloomberg, Panay teases the next part of the evolution and that he wants “perfection in each product we ship”.
He has laid down that he plans to re -enter the equipment throughout the range for more affordable, mid -range and premium devices – nicknamed “entry, kernel or signature”.
Better still, Panos says that the battery life will be longer for laptops, that the speakers will sound better – perhaps even by fixing a standard higher than the first generation Echo studio with a screaming cry – and, potentially taking a page of its surface lead time, promises “the best security available”.
It is said that the first devices featuring Alexa + that Panos touched, beyond the Kindles and even the Echo 15 or 21 show, will arrive in the fall – think from August to October 2025.
Panos establishes a high level for future Echo smart speakers and smart screens, as well as its range of Fire TV sticks and televisions, HD Fire tablets and various other devices. We have already seen the next generation of Kindle made its debut in the last quarter of 2024, and in this vast interview, Panay said: “There will be no angle cup.
This could lead to a clearer orientation for the Amazon entire devices team, which always starts to the customer and works upside down, but also issues future devices with more polishing. It could also be a type of device that Amazon has tried. However, this does not mean that Amazon brings back the short -term fire phone – Panos clearly indicated that he did not intend to do so, although he was not entirely out of the table.
More likely, it could mean a reinvestment in the robots for the home, such as the Ring Always Home ring – a flying safety drone – and Amazon Astro. The latter is always a day product only invitation, but Panos has summarized a large part of the vision as giving people a reason or a better to use Alexa.
On Astro and the robots as a whole, Panos said: “If a robot is one of them, then I will make sure that we have a large robot.” He also suggested that augmented reality glasses and new devices carried on the wrist could be part of a future programming. This could mean that the future versions of echo frames could present cameras, a bit like Ray-Ban Metas, but also be more complete devices with access to Alexa +. Panos confirmed that the material upgrades are coming to laptops, the current echo frames of Amazon and the echo buds.
It is also more logical than Alexa + was to be unveiled first. It will be the central characteristic of these future devices, mainly used as a new platform on which they can excel. I always bet that Amazon wants a screen in everyone’s house.

Like the Panos strategy at Microsoft for the surface, Amazon’s future devices will probably have the greatest attention to detail and will not only offer speeds to go fast, but rather to be there to provide a kind of functionality and a real useful for anyone uses it.
Panos said: “We are considering the next thing for a client with regard to AI devices and we have incredible.” It doubles the range of Amazon devices, and I just can’t wait to see if Amazon will flood the market with new devices in the fall as its previous events or if it will be a more temperate approach. At least, I hope for some new echo speakers through the entry, nucleus and signature range.
