A meeting of the research committee concerning the appointment of a permanent president of the Higher Education Commission (HEC) took place on Wednesday, while the Federal Secretary of Education, Nadeem Mahbub, took accusation as an acting president of the SEC. The meeting of the research committee, trained by the Prime Minister of Pakistan, was chaired by the Federal Minister of Education, Dr. Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui and assisted by members of the Committee. The Committee officially approved the announcement of the HEC president’s vacancy. According to sources, it has been decided that advertising would be published not only in national newspapers but also on international platforms, to attract highly qualified and appropriate candidates from around the world. The Committee also agreed to adopt a transparent and merit -based selection process. Nadeem Mahbub, appointed interim president of HEC by the federal government, has officially taken care of. It was greeted by the acting executive director of HEC and presented a bouquet. The former HEC president, Dr. Mukhtar, also welcomed Nadeem Mahbub and presented flowers to him. The mandate of the president of the previous HEC ended. Sources have declared that advertising will be published in the coming days, after which the examination of eligible candidates will begin, focusing on merit, experience and international standards. The committee decided to give candidates for four weeks to apply. Advertising will be published in local newspapers and on international employment websites.
