The PGA Tour published a statement on Thursday, thanking President Donald Trump for having prohibited the efforts of the tour to negotiate a trade agreement with the Liv golf course and the Public Public Investment Fund (PIF).
“We asked the president to get involved in the good of the game, the property of the country and all the countries involved,” said a statement by the PGA Tour commissioner, Jay Monahan and the director of the players Tiger Woods. “We are grateful that his leadership has brought us closer to a final agreement, opening the way to the reunification of male professional golf.”
After its launch in 2022, LIV attracted several star golfers with massive wages, including Jon Rahm, Bryson Dechambeau, Brooks Koepka, Ian Poulter and Sergio Garcia.
In June of the same year, the PGA suspended 17 players who undertook to play for Liv and promised future suspensions for all those who participated in Liv.

More than a full year has passed since then, but now Trump’s intervention can bring this agreement closer to the conclusion.
