The PM condemns the plan of Israel to seize Gaza as illegal and illegitimate

Islamabad:

Friday, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif firmly condemned approval by the Israeli cabinet of a plan to take control of Gaza City, calling it illegal and illegitimate action. In a statement, he described this decision as a dangerous escalation in the war current against the Palestinian people.

“This is equivalent to a dangerous escalation in an already catastrophic war against the people of Palestine. This expansion of military operations will only increase the existing humanitarian crisis and derail any perspective of peace in the region,” said Prime Minister Shehbaz, stressing that such actions are harmful to regional stability.

He underlined the deep cause of the current tragedy, declaring: “It is the prolonged and illegal occupation of Israel of the Palestinian territory. As long as this occupation continues, peace will remain elusive. ”

The Prime Minister reaffirmed Pakistan’s unshakable support for the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people, including their right to self -determination and the creation of an independent and sovereign state of Palestine, with relevant cooperation resolutions (OIC).

The Prime Minister has called on the international community to intervene urgently, requiring immediate judgment to the assault of Israel, the protection of innocent civilians and the delivery of humanitarian aid essential to Gaza.

One day earlier, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Israel planned to take total control of Gaza but did not intend to govern him because he summoned his security firm to discuss the updated 22 months in war.

The meeting of the cabinet comes as Netanyahu faces increasing pressure in the country and abroad for a truce agreement to withdraw more than two million people from Gaza from the edge of famine and save the hostages held by Palestinian activists.

The president of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, said that Israel “should reconsider” his Gaza plan.

Belgium summoned the Israel’s ambassador to protest both the Gaza City plan and the annexation ambitions of the West Bank.

Other reactions

Danish Minister for Foreign Affairs Lars Lokke Rasmussen urged Israel to cancel the decision, the appellant “badly”.

Hamas labeled the plan a “war crime” and said that Israel “does not care” with the fate of hostages.

The head of the United Nations Human Rights, Volker Turk, warned that the takeover “would cause more death and suffering” and violated a decision of the International Court of Justice to end the occupation.
