The PM decreases Israeli aggression as a threat to regional peace

Lahore:

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif held telephone conversations on Saturday with Iranian President Dr Masoud Pezeshkian and Turkish President Tayyip Recep Erdogan and discussed the Israeli assault with them.

The Prime Minister said that Pakistan was resolutely solidarity with the fraternal people and the government of Iran in the face of the unlike and unjustified assault of Israel.

He strongly condemned Israeli attacks against Iran, who violated his sovereignty and territorial integrity, and was in the midst of the Charter of the United Nations and international law. Iran had the right to defend itself, as provided for in article 51 of the Charter of the United Nations, he added.

While expressing sincere condolences to President Pezeshkian for the loss of precious lives in the attacks, the Prime Minister recalled Pakistan’s support to Iran at the emergency meeting of the United Nations Security Council, held on Friday.

The PM has denounced the flagrant provocations and adventurism of Israel as a serious threat to regional and global peace and stability. He also strongly condemned the unusual genocidal campaign of Israel against the Palestinian valiant, made with total impunity.

He urged the international community and the United Nations to take urgent and credible measures to put an end to the aggressive behavior of Israel and to its illegal actions. He said Pakistan was fully determined to promote peace in the region and was ready to play its role in this context.

President Pezeshkian thanked Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif for the support and solidarity of Pakistan with Iran in this difficult period, in particular the United Nations Security Council. He said that this gesture reflected close and fraternal relations between the two countries.

He informed the PM on the point of view of Iran about the crisis with Israel and urged the international community, in particular Islamic countries, to work in close collaboration to counter these threats.

The two leaders agreed to stay in close contact.

The Iranian president criticized what he described as the “dishonesty” of the United States for having supported Israel while Washington and Tehran were engaged in nuclear talks. “The coordination of the Zionist regime with the United States in its aggression against Iranian territory in the midst of negotiations is a sign of the dishonesty and the lack of reliability of America,” said Pezeshkian during a telephone call with the Prime Minister, according to the Iranian presidency.

He warned that there would be a “more severe and powerful answer” if Israel continued to strike his country.

“The continuation of the Zionist attack will meet with a more serious and powerful response from the Iranian armed forces,” Pezeshkian told Prime Minister, according to the Iranian presidency.

The Prime Minister also organized a telephone conversation with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan of Turkiye and the two agreed that “the uninsured assault of Israel against Iran” was “a blatant violation of international law and a threat to regional peace”.

The two leaders discussed the deeply disturbing situation in the region following the uninsured and unjustified attack on Israel against Iran.

The two leaders agreed that the military strikes of Israel had violated the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Iran, in clear violation of the Charter of the United Nations and international law, while seriously compromising regional and global peace and stability. In this regard, the Prime Minister said that Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Mohammad Ishaq Dar would represent Pakistan at the next CFM meeting in ISTANBUL. He also congratulated President Erdogan for being decorated by the Islamic Cooperation Forum (ICYF).

Defense Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif called the Islamic Cooperation Organization (OCI) to hold an emergency meeting to develop a joint strategy in response to the continuous aggression of Israel.

Speaking in the National Assembly, the Minister condemned the brutal actions of Israel, in particular his military assault against Iran.

He called this a serious threat to regional and global peace. “Palestinian children are killed, but there are more demonstrations in non-Muslim countries than in Muslim countries,” he said with regret.

He warned that if the Muslim world does not act together, each country will eventually become a target. “The way Israel has targeted Yemen, Iran and Palestine shows a wider plan. Most Muslim nations are already faced with security risks. Strong leadership is now necessary,” he said.

He stressed how the world looked closely at the coastal borders of Pakistan during recent tensions, and how the armed forces of Pakistan defended the nation courageously. “Our navy’s response forced the enemy to withdraw,” he said.

The Minister of Defense said that although the military force of Pakistan is commendable, the economy must also be strong.

He congratulated the youth of Pakistan, in particular the cyber-experts, for having given a hard blow to India during a recent cyber-conflict. “Our young people closed the lights in the stadiums, disrupted IPL matches and even affected the dams. Their skills surprised the world,” he said.

He added that the recent military operation Bunyanum Marsoos was a turning point, both strategically and for national morale. He said Pakistan’s response to Indian attacks was firm and timely. “We retaliated in full force,” he said.

The members of the Parliament called for an urgent meeting of the organization of Islamic countries (OCI) to stop the Israeli war in Gaza and now in Iran.

They said that Israel’s attack on Iran is an open terrorist act.

They said it was the need for the hour that all Muslim states should show their unity against Israeli aggression.
