The PM discusses regional stability on appeal with the president of the water after the ceasefire with India

Islamabad:

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif had a telephone conversation Wednesday with the president of the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, discussing regional stability and bilateral links after the ceasefire with India.

According to a press release published Wednesday by the Prime Minister’s office, Prime Minister Shehbaz expressed his sincere gratitude to the United Arab Emirates for his diplomatic efforts to help defuse the recent crisis in South Asia. He praised the constructive role of water in the promotion of peace in the region.

“The United Arab Emirates have always supported themselves in Pakistan,” said the Prime Minister, reaffirming that Pakistan remains attached to peace in South Asia. “It is in this spirit that we accepted an understanding of the ceasefire with India,” he added.

While renewing Pakistan’s determination to maintain an understanding environment, the PM clearly indicated that the country would defend its sovereignty and its territorial integrity at all costs.

He also pointed out that Pakistan would never allow the Industry Water Treaty to be disputed, reiterating its importance as a binding work.

The PM noted the warm and fraternal links between Pakistan and Water, claiming that bilateral cooperation – in particular in the fields of economy and investment – had improved considerably in the past year. He reaffirmed his commitment to transforming the relationship into a mutually beneficial economic partnership.

In response, President Al Nahyan appreciated the efforts of Pakistan to promote peace and praised the understanding of the ceasefire with India. He reaffirmed the support of the United Arab Emirates to Peace and Stability in South Asia.

On May 10, in a television address, Prime Minister Shehbaz recognized the United Arab Emirates for his contributions to defuse tensions and play a role in the ceasefire with India, which was negotiated following the intervention of the American president Trump.

India had also targeted Sheikh Zayed International Airport in the Punjab province of the Rahim Yar Khan district – an installation widely considered as a symbol of Pakistani -Uae friendship.

Pakistan, water sign several agreements to stimulate bilateral links

Last month, Pakistan and water signed a series of understanding memorandums aimed at improving bilateral cooperation in key sectors, including culture, trade and consular affairs.

Vice-Prime Minister Ishaq Dar and the Darrier Minister and the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sheikh Abdullah Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, signed two memorandum of understanding: one to promote cooperation between the Ministry of Water Culture and the Pakistan Culture Division, and another for the creation of a joint committee of consular affairs.

In addition, the two leaders attended the exchange of a memorandum of understanding between the Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Water and the Federation of Pakistani Chambers of Commerce and Industry.

The agreement establishes the joint council of water-skistan, which aims to improve trade and investment relations.
