Lahore:
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and a judge of the district court exchanged greetings on Pakistan’s reported victory in the conflict with India during the procedures for defamation action filed by the Prime Minister against Pakistan Tehreek-E-insaf (PTI), the founding president Imran Khan.
Prime Minister Shehbaz appeared before the court via a video link for the hearing of the defamation case of 10 billion rupees, which accuses Imran Khan of tarnishing his image by public allegations of offering a bridge pot to remove the Panama Papers affair.
At the start of the hearing, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif congratulated the people present in the courtroom for what he described as the success of Pakistan in the conflict.
The President judge did the same for the greeting, recognizing the reported development. Imran Khan’s lawyer also commented on the situation, calling him a national victory.
During the cross-examination, the Council of Imran Khan asked a series of questions to the Prime Minister.
When asked if the allegations had been made in writing, the Prime Minister replied that the statements had been made several times on the television channels.
Responding to know if he had already made similar charges without proof, the Prime Minister said that he had never made a baseless complaint.
The court postponed the hearing until June 2 for other procedures.
