The police deploy complete security plans for chehlum processions

Before the Chehlum processions scheduled for August 15 (Friday), Islamabad and Karachi police have developed large security plans, with thousands of staff deployed in the two cities to ensure the smooth safety and driving of religious rallies.

Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, at a press conference at the central Imambargah in G-6, said the Islamabad police had established a complete security plan for the Chehlum procession in the federal capital.

The plan has been drawn up with reference to the last five years of security. To guarantee the infallible security of the procession, a force comprising 5,000 agents and staff has been deployed. All division excavations, SSP, SPS and Islamabad police officers are in service, he added.

The elite shooter commandos were positioned on the roofs along the procession, and stealing private drones in the region was strictly prohibited.

In addition, special CTD, police and rangers units were deployed at the front and rear of the procession. In addition, 16 RAGERS RAGERS (QRF) team teams, 29 QRF teams from CTD and 16 elite police vehicles were parked to respond quickly to any urgency.

He also mentioned that the Islamabad police had carried out research operations across the city and carried out seven scan cycles along the Chehlum procession track. The entry points have been increased to facilitate participants.

The purpose of all these arrangements, he said, is to provide a maximum of convenience to citizens so that they do not face any difficulty during the chehlum procession. The public is invited to cooperate with the police and immediately report any suspicious activity to the Pucar-15 emergency line.

Meanwhile, Karachi police also finalized a robust deployment plan as part of numerous safety measures for the respect of CHEHLUM, involving 11,479 police and staff.

According to the details shared by the Additional Inspector General (AIG) Karachi, Javed Alam Odho, a complete security strategy was put in place to ensure peace and order throughout the city during religious commemorations.

On the total deployment, 7,465 police and staff will be stationed along the tracks of 108 processions, while 2,901 officers will be in service at the 501 Majalis (religious gatherings). 1,113 additional officers will be deployed to secure 642 Imambargahs through Karachi.

In a high -level directive published by the AIG, all the home officers (SHO) were invited to remain present in their respective jurisdictions, to intensify the patrols, to apply the verification of the snapshots and to ensure strict picchement, in particular in sensitive areas. The security plan highlights sensitive facilities, public places and the main government and private buildings, which will remain on alert.

The routes leading to the city’s central chehlum procession of the city will be completely sealed and increased security measures have been implemented around the Nishtar park, a focal point of the day’s observances.

Karachi’s entry and exit points are also closely monitored, with coordinated control points and research operations. The bombs elimination team has carried out comprehensive swings and customs clearance operations in all the main sites to prevent any unfortunate incident.
