If you want you to hold your intelligent television in your hand and roll it in the room as well as paste it on the wall or sit on a neighboring surface, then LG Stanbyme 2 could be exactly what you are looking for. The newly updated Stanbym is a very different type of television from the rest of the LG range: it is a television that thinks it is a tablet, or maybe it’s a tablet that thinks it is a television.
Let’s start with the normal bit first. Stanbyme 2 is a 27 -inch intelligent television with a 60 Hz refresh rate and a QHD resolution of 2,560 x 1,440 with AI image optimization.
You can use it as a normal TV, but it can do much more. Do it on the support and you can watch wireless for up to four hours, which is better than you get most of the best portable projectors that have batteries.
If you sit on your knees, you can take advantage of a 27 -inch touch screen to draw or play games. Or you can hang it on the wall and use it as a photo frame (or just watch TV from there). Or you can ride it on its truck wheel support.
LG Stanbyme 2: Key characteristics and price
Stanbym is a webos TV with all the usual smart features to access the best streaming services, and it also has USB -C and HDMI inputs – in addition there are Airplay and Google Cast so that you can use it as a display for other devices. It works both in portrait and landscape mode, and it has both Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos support with “Virtual 9.1.2 Surround sound”.
You can even recharge it from a food bank if there is enough juice: external recharging needs a 65 W power, which many of the best electricity banks can offer now.
I could actually see me using this: 27 inches are the same size as my very missed massive iMac, and this size is a very good display of a laptop. Being able to use it as a television in a room or a kitchen to amuse children is excellent feature, as you can then hide it later. ,,
Voice recognition could be particularly useful for cooking, because when you cook and have disorderly hands. I would describe it as “transportable” rather than entirely portable, however: at 9.5 pounds without the support, it is quite heavy.
This should be enough to the test of future: LG promises software updates up to five years.
The drawback, what you have probably noted, is the price. Not only is Stanbyme 2 quite expensive, but it is much more expensive than the first generation TV Stanbym. Stanbyme 2 is $ 300 more than the previous model, bringing the price of the sticker to a fairly large number of $ 1,299 – like an Apple Imac M3, and this also has a computer inside.
Stanbym is now available in the United States and will be launched in the United Kingdom, Germany, France and Spain in August 2025. The price of these countries has not yet been announced.
