Fencer Stephanie Turner talked about some of the difficulties that came with his decision to make a knee to protest the competition against a transgender athlete during a competition.
Turner was honored as a champion of courage by XX-Xy Athletics following the decision, which led to her expulsion of the event and an investigation into fencing in the United States.

She appeared on the Outkick Podcast “Gaines for Girls” with Riley Gaines to talk about the price and opened its doors against trans inclusion in female sports.
“There are a lot of women who attend men in their sports, and they try to save their own sports by themselves, and it’s difficult to get out because you are essentially for your life,” she said. “You can face social ostracism, you can have a financial return, you can have the training disturbed and you may have civil servants or referees who are no longer favorable to you for the rest of your life.
“There is no end to the way you could face, or you might have threats to your life as I know in your case that you have had such things. So it is not fun to be at the reception of this. This is not what I wanted to do, and it helps to have people who recognize that, it takes a kind of sacrifice to attract attention and I appreciate their recognition.”

USA Fencing told PK Press Club Digital that Turner was now in probation for the next 12 months after receiving a black card for the package. It can always compete in events under probation, but chooses not to do it.
