Islamabad: The Ministry of Law and Justice has issued notifications for the permanent appointment of chief judges at the four -less lessons in the country, following the approval of President Asifi Ali Zardari.

According to the notification, judge Sarfraz Dogar was appointed chief judge of the High Court of Islamabad. Judge Junaid Ghaffar was appointed chief judge of the High Court of the Sindh.

In Balutchistan, judge Rozi Khan Bareech was appointed chief judge of the high court of Balutchistan, while Judge Atiq Shah was informed as chief judge of the High Court of Peshawar.

Development occurred a week after the Pakistan Judicial Commission (JCP) appointed permanent chief judges for four high lessons.

In February, five IHC judges had moved the Supreme Court against the appointment of the Dogar judge as an acting chief of the IHC, as well as the transfer of three judges from the High Court to their court.

The plea was filed by judge Mohin Akhtar Kiyani, judge Tariq Mehmood Jahangiri, judge Babar Sattar, judge Sardar Ejaz Ishaq Khan and judge Saman Riffat Imtiaz.

However, the Superior Court, on June 19, rejected the arguments filed against the transfer of judges and judged that the Dogar judge could continue to work as an acting chief of the IHC.

Later, President Asif Ali Zardari officially declared judge Dogar the “most high -end judge” of the IHC, following the issuance of a list of seniority revised by the ministry of Law and justice.

It is relevant to know that the five judges of the IHC filed an intra-cout (ICA) appeal against the verdict of the SC on June 19.

In their plea, the judges asked that the order of the constitutional bench be “recalled and reserved […] in the interest of justice “.

“During the suspension of the instant call, this honorable court can graciously grant a provisional repair as prayed in the request for provisional repair which accompanies it. Any other reparation that this honorable court can judge adapted and appropriate can also be granted,” said the petition.
