Karachi:
The personal doctor of President Asif Ali Zardari, Dr. Asim Hussain, said on Saturday that the president recovered well and should be released from the hospital in a day or two.
Addressing a press conference at Ziauddin Hospital in Clifton, Karachi, Dr. Hussain has strongly refuted reports circulating on Indian news channels and social media concerning the health of the president, qualifying the images of “trafficked” and the news “completely baseless”.
“I regret saying that false and deceptive information about the president’s state is distributed by the Indian media and certain social media accounts,” said Dr. Hussain.
The doctor revealed that President Zardari had traveled from Islamabad to Nawabshah last weekend when he returned to Karachi.
“I received a call from the president on Eid day by saying that he did not feel well. Later in the evening, he recalled and complained of cold and fever. I reached Nawabshah that evening, but the [health] The installations were limited. On Monday, we transferred the president to Karachi and admitted him to the hospital to [medical] Test, “he said.
Subsequently, the medical tests confirmed that President Zardari had contracted COVVI-19.
“Now the president feels much better. He will be relieved from the hospital tomorrow or day after,” said Dr. Hussain, adding that he was under the care of a senior medical team.
The president’s personal doctor noted that COVVI-19 was still present in Pakistan, but now they had access to effective antiviral drugs. “Despite what political opponents say, and whatever the hostile position of India, the content made on social networks does not reflect reality.”
Dr. Hussain also revealed that the president deals with blood pressure and diabetes problems.
“Whether President Zardari publishes his hospital or not a political decision. Videos circulating on social networks are completely false,” said the doctor.
