Right in the case, NBN CO confirmed that wholesale price increases come into force at the turn of the new fiscal year in July, which will in turn affect many of the best NBN plans.

What to expect this year
So what does this mean for this last series of wholesale price increases? The quick response is: we do not really know it, because internet service providers are free to adjust their plans as they see fit. We could see a response similar to what we did last year, according to which the slower NBN plans could become more expensive, while the faster NBN plan prices could become even more affordable.

How much do NBN plans increase?
The wholesale cost of all the NBN, from the slow nbn 25 to the fastest NBN 1000 is all ready to see an increase. Depending on speed, the prices of the large plan increase between $ 0.66 to $ 1.71 in

It was suggested that the prices of the NBN plan should not increase alongside these speed gains, but again, the ISPs are free to do what they want. The very fact that the increase in speed does not apply to everyone could help the case of prices to remain fixed.
If you live in a cleaning that connects via the fiber to the node (FTTN) or at the sidewalk (FTTC), you are probably eligible for the free fiber upgrade program of NBN CO, which will upgrade your equipment in FTTP, necessary to benefit from faster download speeds.
What to do now
The best way to beat the price increase, at least temporarily, is to pass your NBN plan to a new supplier before July. Most NBN suppliers offer six -month introduction discounts and if you register for a new plan just before entry into force, this promotion will be honored for duration.
The current cost can be sensitive to any potential increase but, as mentioned above, if you have an HFC or FTTP connection, you will also be configured for an increase in speed at the time your six -month expire. One key thing to note here is that our NBN 250 and NBN 1000 plan recommendations deleted the introductory discounts and rather opted for a fixed rate. We will closely monitor these plans in particular the new exercise to see if changes take effect.
