The War of Words between Governor Sindh Kamran Khan Tessori and Mayor Karachi Murtaza Wahab continues when the latter said that the problems to which the city cannot be resolved simply by gestures like “ Iftar and Sehri ”, but only by coherent and practical work.

Addressing the media, Wahab, belonging to the Pakistani peoples’ party (PPP), stressed the importance of taking concrete measures rather than engaging in propaganda.

Wahab said the PPP is committed to solving public problems regardless of its political affiliation.

He also took a moment to offer prayers for the protection of those he called “adversaries” and expressed the hope that the sacred month of Ramadan would bring blessings to the city and to his people.

Defending more the PPP approach, Wahab congratulated the governor of the Sindh, describing him both as a close friend and a benefactor of the city.

He revealed that, on the governor’s suggestion, he had recently written a letter to the federal government asking for funds to support development efforts in Karachi.

In particular, Wahab reiterated his request for release of 100 billion rupees, a sum he said that he was looking for the last eight days.

He called on officials of the federal government, including Governor Kamran Tessori, to ensure that these funds are made available, reiterating that, if it were received, he would ensure a complete reaction and transparency in their use.

Wahab concluded by stressing that if it is easy to make promises and discuss problems, real work is much more difficult.

He highlighted one of the critical needs of the city – the construction of a bypass of the North – which, according to him, is essential to resolve Karachi’s congestion to the worsening of Karachi.

The Sindh governor responds to the mayor of Karachi

Previously, the Governor of Sindh, Kamran Khan Tessori, had responded to the declaration made by the mayor of Karachi Murtaza Wahab, saying that his goal during Ramadan is entirely on public service, in particular at the time of Sehri and Iftar.

In his remarks, Tessori stressed that his dedication to community service during the sacred month of Ramadan leaves him time for something else, especially after Sehri.

The Governor of Sindh shared that he had the privilege of welcoming Iftar for the general consuls of Saudi Arabia, Iran, Oman, Turkiye, Malaysia, Russia and Bangladesh, and also had the honor of offering IFTAR to 10,000 people at the Governor’s House.

He expressed that while serving the public, he also gains spiritual merit, stressing that he provides daily gifts such as residential plots, Omra tickets, motorcycles and phones, in addition to distributing Sehri in various places.

Tessori also responded to criticism, advising them to focus on improvements rather than jealousy on love and support he received from the people.

He stressed that this Ramadan, he had demonstrated his commitment to all citizens, with people from all walks of life – be it the Muhajirs, the Sindhis, the Punjabis, Baloutch or Pachtounes – considering him a brother and a son.

He concluded by encouraging others to gain hearts through service, stressing that it is the real measure of success, rather than desire for popular support.
