Islamabad:
The United Kingdom has promised 1.33 million pounds sterling humanitarian aid to support Pakistan to deal with the devastating impact of the monsoon season of this year.
The aid package, announced on Friday, is expected to benefit more than 223,000 people in seven districts struck by floods in Punjab, Gilgit-Baltistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Support will finance a wide range of emergency and recovery interventions, including the distribution of dry food rations, the deployment of research and rescue teams, the establishment of mobile medical camps and the rehabilitation of damaged drinking water systems.
