- The radar card has disappeared during the time of pixels
- All phone models seem to be affected
- Google said nothing about change
If you have turned on the weather app on your Pixel phone in recent days and found the Radar card strangely absent, you are not alone: it seems to have disappeared on all Pixel phones for all users, and no one knows why.
As Android Authority noted, it seems to be a change on the server side, which means that Google apparently changed something in its end – there was no update of the application that removed the weather card.
If you are not familiar with the weather app on the pixel, the radar card shows precipitation in any area for the next few hours – it’s a bit like Dark Sky, if you remember the Popular iPhone weather application that Apple bought in 2020 and later closed.
The view of the card was part of a major overhaul of the weather application on pixels, a overhaul that appeared for the first time on the Google Pixel 9 series, before going to the older devices. There are many other information in the application, but the card in real time is a large part of its appeal.
We contacted Google to find out if he has an official response for disappearance and will update this story if we hear.
Where did he go?
Google Weather App Radar has disappeared. Anyone else? from R / Googlepixel
You can find many complaints regarding the disappearance of the Radar card on Reddit and the official Pixel phone help forums. It seems to have disappeared on each pixel phone, and it seems that many users are big fans of its functionality.
I loaded the weather app on my own pixel phone and I can confirm that the card widget is not found. Everything else seems to work as usual, but there is no card panel on the interface – and no indication that it was ever there.
Google did not officially say anything officially on this, and until this is the case, we are in ignorance of what happened here. Is there a bug that Google is corrected? Did he decided to remove the radar card for good? Has it been drawn by mistake? Right now, we just don’t know.
Unless it is a real error, it seems that bad shape for Google deletes such popular feature in a basic pixel application without any warning. Hopefully Google will come back to us with an official comment in the near future – and the return of the card.
