Khanewal:
An employee of railways was killed and a suburban woman injured after a section of the pedestrian bridge collapsed on Friday at Khanewal station.
The bridge segment collapsed in the early hours of the morning. An employee of the station lost his life in the incident, while a woman suffered a broken leg.
Rescue operations were quickly completed and reconstruction work should start today. Traffic traffic continues to follow the routine, confirmed the PR.
The federal minister of railways Hanif Abbasi took an immediate note from the incident and suspended three officials for negligence.
