Vice-Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ishaq Dar, said on Wednesday that the claims of the regional domination of India had been broken following recent developments, adding that there is “mourning” in India for not having undermined the diplomatic position of Pakistan.

DAR’s comments followed significant diplomatic commitments during his recent visit to China, where he held bilateral meetings with the Chinese Minister of Foreign Affairs and participated in a trilateral meeting with Afghan officials.

The visit, which also served as a thank you to China for its support on Pahalgam’s question, underlined the growing international recognition of the position of Pakistan.

“India has lied to harm Pakistan, and today, its regional superiority assertions have been reduced to dust,” said Dar, stressing that Pakistan’s response to Indian aggression was both effective and measured. He praised the diplomatic awareness led by the Minister of Foreign Affairs Bilawal Bhutto, who collected international renown for his clarity.

The climbing of tensions between Pakistan and India began on April 22 with the attack in the Pahalgam region, the Indians, illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (Iiojk), where 26 people were killed.

India immediately blamed Pakistan without providing evidence, while Islamabad denied New Delhi’s complaint and called for an independent investigation.

The government led by Narendra Modi in India then took a series of hostile actions, including the suspension of the 65-year-old industrial waters (IWT), canceling visas for Pakistani citizens, closing the border crossing of Wagah-Attari, ordering the closure of the high Pakistani commission to New Deli and reducing diplomatic staff to all the others.

Pakistan retaliated with rapid actions, including countermeasures such as the stop of trade and the closure of airspace, were followed by a series of military commitments.
