Rawalpindi:
The citizen action committee expressed strong dissatisfaction with regard to what it called a “non -serious” response from the Prime Minister’s portal (PMDU) concerning its complaint.
President Zahid Ahmed Awan said government representatives regularly ignore public complaints and pay no attention to the portal.
On August 31, Awan had submitted a complaint by the PM portal demanding that the Historical Liaquat of Bagh in Rawalpindi be restored to its status of origin of ladies and children’s park instead of being used as garbage spill.
In his request, he declared that the foul smell and the pollution of the discharge seriously affected the adjacent localities of Arya Mohalla, Liaquat Road, Moti Mahal, government offices, mosques and educational establishments.
However, after 25 days, the MD of RWMC only responded with a brief note, saying: “We clean with limited resources and old machinery, a cleanliness campaign is also underway and the cooperation of citizens is necessary.”
According to Awan, this answer was “completely out of words” and did not solve the basic problem. He added that it was regrettable that representatives of the government often responded by “recovery granted” without even reading complaints.
“If this is the condition of complaints on the Prime Minister’s portal, what can be expected of the daily questions of ordinary citizens?” He pointed out.
