- Some models of the Samsung Galaxy S26 will use an exynos 2600 chipset
- However, it seems that the others will always have a snapdragon chipset
- Snapdragon chipsets are generally more powerful, but the gap could be classified
The Samsung Galaxy S25 series was a bit of an anomaly, because if Samsung generally uses two different chipsets for its Galaxy S phones (depending on the model and the region), this year, it used the Snapdragon 8 elite at all levels. Next year, however, we could review a chipset separating.
It is according to the renowned leak @Jukanlosreve, which said on X that “the exynos 2600 is definitively back and that it will be used in S26”. However, it does not seem to be a complete Snapdragon switch, as they added that the volume of the fleas is apparently limited.
So, in other words, Samsung may not be able to produce enough exynos 2600 chipsets to equip each Samsung Galaxy S26 model with one, which means that certain models and / or certain regions will probably obtain the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 2, or anything ends up calling your new generation chipset.
The exynos 2600 is definitely back and it will be used in the S26. But the volume of the fleas is so limited that it will probably be similar to the situation Exynos 990. I do not know if SF2 is really good.March 30, 2025
As a general rule, when Samsung uses two different chipsets, it offers us versions of Snapdragon, while the basic models and more obtain models, and the ultra still obtains Snapdragon. Thus, on the basis of the past form, the Samsung Galaxy S26 and the Samsung Galaxy S26 Plus could use the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 2 in the United States and the Exynos 2600 elsewhere, while the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra could use the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 2 overall.
Differences in power and efficiency
What does this mean for you? Well, Qualcomm snapdragon chipsets tend to surpass the Samsung Exynos, so we were very happy to see the Snapdragon 8 elite used worldwide with the Galaxy S25 series. But in fact, the Exynos 2400 used by the Samsung Galaxy S24 series in certain regions was not radically far behind its rival Snapdragon.
In our own tests, comparing a Samsung Galaxy S24 powered by Exynos with a Samsung Galaxy S24 S24 S24, in Snapdragon, we have noticed that “you will not notice this difference in performance with general use, because these two phones are much faster than they should be”.
And there are certain areas in which the Exynos 2400 seems in fact to surpass the snapdragon chipset of this generation. For example, Android Authority found that the battery life was better with exynos.
So if you live in a region where the Samsung Galaxy S26 obtains an Exynos 2600 chipset, it may not be such a bad thing.
In any case, it is very early for the leaks of Samsung Galaxy S26, because these phones will probably not be launched before 2026. So, although it is not the first time that we have heard that the Exynos 2600 could be used in the programming of next year, we cannot at all be confident of which chipset or chipset will be used for the moment. For the moment, then, we are not too concerned about this possibility.
