- The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Z Flip 7 could both have a new version of the Samsung provisional engine
- This could allow better quality photos, better digital zoom and better video stability
- The foldables have also been certified in South Korea, suggesting that they soon launch
The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 and the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7 could arrive with a major upgrade under the hood which offers improved photos and videos, based on a new leak.
We have already heard that the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 could have a new 200MP camera, but that the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7 may not be in such upgrades, with the same camera equipment as last year.
However, the Z FLIP 7 could always be able to take better photos than the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 6, because the two foldables to come could have an improved version of Samsung’s provisional engine image processing technology.
It is according to the leak @pandaflashpro, which claims that a new version of the provisional engine arrives both at the Galaxy Z Flip 7 and at the Galaxy Z Fold 7.
This upgrade will apparently allow better photo quality, better digital zoom quality and better video stability. So, in other words, photos and videos could be more beautiful on these phones than on their predecessors.
“Confirmed” The Galaxy Z Fold 7 | Flip 7 will use the pro-visual engine of the new generation of Samsung, which will later be extended to the Galaxy S25 series.June 12, 2025
Provisional Engine made its debut in the Samsung Galaxy S24 series, and it is a series of AI tools that works in the background to improve the quality of photos and video – as well as things like Generative Edit, which allows you to modify the photos you have taken.
So it’s not a new thing, but if this leak is right, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 and the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7 will obtain an improved new version of technology. However, the source adds that this improved version will later land on the Samsung Galaxy S25 series as a software update, you may not have to buy one of the next folders of the company to obtain it.
Certified to launch
In other foldable news from Samsung, the Galaxy Z Flip 7 and the Galaxy Z Fold 7 were both certified by Safetykorea (such as spotted by Xpertpick).
These certifications do not tell us much, but it is compulsory for the phones to receive this certification before being sold in South Korea, which both confirms that the phones are in preparation, and suggest that they will soon land, because this certification would generally occur quite close to the launch.
This makes sense, because on the basis of the past form, we would expect the two handsets to launch in July, with a leak pointing towards an announcement of July 10.
