Recent leaks have suggested that the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 could have a lot in common with the Samsung Galaxy Z Folde special edition from last year, including screens of the same size and the same main 200 MP camera. But we now hear about an area where the Z Fold 7 could have this previous foldable beat.
According to Leaker @PandaflashPro (via Notebookcheck), Samsung works on an S pen that will work without scanner on the screen. A scanner is a layer on the screen that records the inputs of the stylus, and deleting it could allow the phone to be thinner.
Indeed, the withdrawal of the scanner is exactly what Samsung has done with the special edition Galaxy Z Fold, which only 10.6 mm thick when it is folded and 4.9 mm thick when it is unfolded is a little thinner than the Samsung Galaxy Z 6 fold. However, the deletion of the digitizer of this phone also meant that Samsung should delete the pen support.

The ideal combination
If the company works on a new type of pen that does not need a scanner, we could have the best of both worlds with the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7: a thin design (but not thinner than the Special edition Z Fold according to this source) and the management of the S Pen stylus.
We take this assertion with a pinch of salt, both because the source does not mention the Z Fold 7 by its name here – which means that this new pen design could be intended for another phone – and because They don’t have much a history. But this is not the first time that we have heard that the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 could have a new S Pen -S design and no scanner, so it might be precise.
We certainly hope, because if everything we have heard of the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 so far takes place, it could be an upgrade on the Z Fold 6 – a thinner phone with larger screens , a better camera and a more powerful chipset, but perhaps with the same price.
