Barely a few years ago, Arch Manning was one of the country’s most recruited high school players and finally decided to take its potential and high -level surname in Austin.

After having experienced a limited playing time by supporting Quinn Ewers for its first two years in Texas, Manning opened its first season as a full-time leaving last weekend.

He finished the 14-7 Saturday defeat against Ohio State with 170 yards by the pass, a touch and an interception.

Several scouts and more than a dozen representatives of a variety of NFL teams would have attended the game to have an overview of the n ° 1 choice next year.

Manning’s performance sparked a wide range of reactions, a scout admitting that they had trouble watching the match.

“Honestly, it was a bit difficult to watch,” said the nameless scout at Fox Sports.

The media threshing surrounding Arch, the nephew of the greats of the NFL Peyton and Eli Manning and grandson of the legend of the Saints of New Orleans Archie Manning, intensified while the 2025 season approached. The scout suggested that anticipation and the threshing media was ultimately a bad service in Manning.

“Honestly, it was a bit difficult to watch,” said the scout. “He was so excited. Almost no matter what he did, he could not have met these expectations. But I admit that I thought he would be better than him.”

Monday, Manning recognized his performance saying, “I have to play better.”

Another talent assessor gave Manning a more indulgent review, highlighting the “very good” talent in the defensive field of buckeyes. Other scouts have adopted a waiting approach, noting that it was still “too early in the process”.

The former scout of the New York Jets Daniel Kelly offered an optimistic review of Manning day in Columbus, Ohio, saying that he was “in fact encouraged” by his performance.

“He has shown an improvement in several key areas. He has improved to see the whole field. He is better to travel his progressions and deliver his 2nd and 3rd readings more precisely. And he is much better to feel the pressure,” wrote Kelly on X. “I noticed several pieces against Ohio State, he was able to get out of the field pressure and the decrease in the legs.
