Sir Ringo Starr’s son Zak Starkey was definitely nervous before playing at The Cavern.
Even though he himself had visited his father’s hometown only once and never decided to enter the famous concert hall where the legendary rock band that also included Sir Paul debuted McCartney and the late John Lennon and George Harrison.
However, after the Mantra of The Cosmos band was supplemented by Happy Mondays’ Shaun Ryder and Bez and former Oasis bassist Andy Bell, they played two shows there in one day, calling it a “surreal” experience .
Before the performances, the former Oasis drummer contacted famous guitarist Noel Gallagher to reassure him.
“It was very surreal. I was pissing him off – that’s right, until I got there and it was incredible. The music is like sacred music, isn’t it- I don’t,” Zak told the Liverpool Echo, speaking about his experience at the show.
Revealing the conversation he had with Noel, Zak mentioned: “I used to be scared out of my pants. I was sitting in my room and texted Noel to tell him I was screwed. He said, “Go down there and move on, what are you talking about?” »
Mantra Of The Cosmos have only performed a few shows, including their debut at Glastonbury in 2023.
