Alijah Arenas, a hope of five-star basketball and son of the former NBA player Gilbert Arenas, was involved Thursday in a serious vehicle accident, according to several reports.
Arenas was “hospitalized and placed in an induced coma,” said Espn. The 18 -year -old California native was traveling in a Tesla Cybertruck shortly before 5 a.m. in Los Angeles, according to TMZ Sports.
Arenas recently entered the USC Trojans’ male basketball team.

In December 2024, Arenas was one of the best classified shooters in the 2026 class. He recently asked to be reclassified as a senior to allow him to obtain his graduate of secondary studies in 2025.

Gilbert participated in a special father-son-in-law at the start of the month at the All-American game from McDonald’s in New York. In an interview, the young arenas have talked about some of the similarities he shares with his father.

“Our personalities are a bit the same,” said Alijah. “I have the impression that it is my father’s dream too, that I could reach this level.”
During a recent edition of “Podcast P” of the Philadelphia 76 -ters goalkeeper, goalkeeper Paul George, the elders’ arenas shared some details on the experience of his son’s training.

“It’s not days off. … We get [300 or] 400 shots before school, “said Arenas.” He is coachable … Depending on the day he is. In the morning, we get up at 5:30 am then he [practices] an hour and a half. [He goes to school, comes home and then] Train, and we got up right after. And then we had more shots, more dribbling. “”
Gilbert has five children, four of whom he shares with his ex-wife, Laura Govan, Alijah’s mother.
